Founded in 1987, San Juan Community Library is one of only a handful of lending libraries in Puerto Rico. Our library has over 30,000 books, DVDs in Spanish and English in its collection. SJCL is also the only public library with a digital branch, with 1,000 ebooks/audiobooks and 25,000 ebooks from Project Gutenberg (classic titles in public domain). Members may join from the comfort of their own home and check out our ebooks and audiobooks to their mobile devices and laptops. We are the library that never sleeps, and we are always open at www.digitalsjcl.org

(includes a FREE membership in our digital branch)

San Juan Community Library depends on volunteers and a paid part time executive director for its day-to-day operations. It has a Board of Directors and is a registered 501 (c)(3) Non-profit Organization in both Puerto Rico and the United States.

Our services include free WiFi, computers with Internet, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs, printing in black & white and color and exam proctoring.

COVID-19  PROTOCOLS
As of September 23, 2021

At this point in time, as a library housed in a government building, we must follow the executive orders.  We will require for ages 12 and up proof of COVID-19 vaccination or accept a negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours of your visit.  We will require facemasks that cover the nose and mouth and without valves, as well as the use of hand sanitizer (yours or ours) upon entering the building.  We will also continue to register visits with names and phone numbers.  Children 11 and under are welcome with an accompanying adult with proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours of the visit to the library.
