Check mate! Starting in August, there will be chess classes at the library with the start of the Chess Academy at San Juan Community Library , with Professor Jonathan Torres Santiago, national champion in this sports discipline.
Chess helps in the development of strategic thinking, concentration, and patience; also, it increases memory, intuition, and creative sense in children and adults. Classes start on Saturday August 11, 2018.
There will be three levels:
* Basic Level: Monday + Wednesday | 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
* Intermediate Level: Monday + Wednesday | 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
* Advanced Level: Saturdays | 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
