We need your help. Our online fundraiser “Keep Our Library Open Anti-Gala Fundraiser” is not doing well. In order for us to stay open in 2019, we need everyone’s help. Please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. Membership, program, fines and sales revenue are critical to our budget, but they are not enough to cover our operating expenses. Please share the link to our online fundraiser with your friends and contacts. Here is the link:

So far, our online campaign has raised $260. That will pay one month’s photocopier lease, photocopier monthly maintenance fee, and our telephone. It does not cover internet access, insurance, cleaning service and supplies, etc., etc.,etc.

Instead of holding an annual fundraiser from which 40 to 50% of your donation would have gone to the expenses for the event, our online campaign “Keep Our Library Open Anti-Gala Fundraiser,” will ensure that 100% of your support will go to our operations in 2019.

Our board members are contacting their friends and colleagues, as well. You may also mail your donation or bring your donation to the library. Our Mailing Address is:

The decision is yours. If you want us to be here for you in 2019, then please help us now! Let’s turn “no” into “on” and keep our library open and on target for 2019. With your help, we will stay strong. Thanks, Everybody!

Thanksgiving Week: Please note that we will be closed Monday, November 19 to Friday, November 23. We will be open on Saturday, November 24 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Chess Lecture: And, at 1 pm on November 24, we will offer a talk about the benefits of chess with chess expert Professor Ricardo J. Rodriguez Colón. Through the great game of chess, we all have the chance to grow and to learn–but, chess offers many benefits that help our young adults to learn to focus, to grow, to enjoy life, and to discover their self esteem. Join us and you may also sign up for our chess classes held on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays with chess champion Jonathan Torres!
