We hope this email finds you well. It has been a long time since last we met. We are so happy to know that you are using our digital branch during the quarantine, as we note a 40% increase in checkouts of our digital ebooks and audiobooks.
We are all looking forward to being together again.
Now more than ever, home is more important to us all. And, our library has always been a home, a place with a sense of concern and care for our family of patrons and visitors.
Because of this guiding vision, we are planning our reopening on a very restricted basis. We want to protect our library’s community and our volunteers at this very difficult time. It is our intention to one day soon return to our time honored model.
We are hoping to reopen under reduced services beginning on Monday, June 1. We will be opening under a return and checkout model. There are several measures that come with this reopening, and we are going to send them to you in a followup email. However, we want to share with you now a few of these measures.
Open to the public: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 12 pm – 2 pm. Visits will be limited to 15 minutes in the Library Proper for checkout of materials only–visits will be limited to 4 patrons at a time. 15 minute visits to the Breezeway by 2 patrons at a time. Checked in materials will be received in the Conference Room–2 patrons at a time 5 minutes per visit.
No donated books at this time. No return of materials via the drop box. Checkouts will be limited to 2 titles per family member (we normally allow 4 –which we have frequently overriden in the past). For the safety of our volunteers and our community, we ask that parents come without their children for the first two weeks–however, children ages 12 and up may
visit with their parents.
All patrons and visitors must wear a mask of their own. We are encouraging the use of gloves (which if we can find gloves, we will provide them).
Please rest assured, we are taking these measures to provide safety for us all. We are planning to work under this model for the first two weeks upon reopening and to then reevaluate them.
Stay safe…from our library family to yours.
