Library Update, Schedule Changes

Our summer reading contest “Reading for the Community” ends Saturday, July 17, 2021.  Please bring all tracker sheets in by 3 pm that day to have your coupons count for the raffle of the reading tablets–there are 4 this year!  We are very proud of our youngest readers!   46 library members participated.  Stay tuned to find out the total that our readers raised for our library and for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico. 

SUMMER BREAK:  We will be closed for summer break from Monday, July 19 through Tuesday, July 27.  (July 26 Constitution Day Observed and July 27 José Celso Barbosa’s Birthday)  Reopening Wednesday, July 28 from 12 pm -4 pm.  July 31 – August 14 we will be open under the current schedule:
Monday/Wednesday 12 pm – 4 pm; Tuesday 10 am – 12 pm and Saturday 12 pm – 3 pm.

NEW SCHEDULE:  Starting Monday, August 16 we will be open from:  Monday-Thursday 10:30 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm.  Computer access and meeting and study spaces will again be available.    

Note:  The green drop-off box for returning books is available now.   

FACE MASKS:  At the moment, we require that our patrons, visitors and volunteers continue to use a face mask.  

SAVE THE DATE:  Saturday, August 21 from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm celebrate with us the return to school and the presentation of our new Arab-American collection.  All sales books 50% off their regular prices, new and renewal memberships just $2 for the first 20 people through the door (the original fee when we opened in 1987), and amnesty on all fines.  Cake and punch at 11 am.  Come and join the fun!
