Reunión Anual de la Comunidad / Cambios Propuestos a los Estatutos

También presentaremos nuestro informe anual para el año 2020. Queremos compartir uno de los aspectos más destacados con ustedes ahora. Estamos encantados de que todos sepan que durante el año pasado, tu biblioteca prestó 11,000 libros, 8,984 de nuestra sucursal física y 1,875 de nuestra sucursal digital. Eso representa una disminución de solo el 27% con respecto a 2019. ¡Gracias a todos por su firme y leal apoyo! San Juan Community Library – ¡Juntos somos tu biblioteca!

Proposed changes in the year 2021 to the By-laws. Proposed changes are shown in yellow.
1. Annual Meeting: The annual meeting of The San Juan Community Library at BUCAPLAA shall take place no later than June 30th of each year. Notice of the Annual Meeting shall be posted at the Library at least thirty (30) days before the Meeting. Additional notice shall be made on the library website. Purpose of the meeting will be to elect new members to the Board of Directors and receive the Annual Report, which is prepared by the Executive Director. Elections and other decisions will be based on the will of the majority of members present.
Change to:
The annual meeting of the San Juan Community Library at BUCAPLAA shall take place once a year. Notice of the Annual Meeting shall be posted at the Library fifteen (15) days before the Meeting. Additional notice shall be made on the library website. Purpose of the meeting will be to elect new members to the Board of Directors and receive the Annual Report, which is prepared by the Executive Director. Elections and other decisions will be based on the will of the majority of members present.

Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be responsible for (the custodian of) reporting the financial situation of the Library to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director shall be the custodian of all monies and shall deposit them in the bank account of the San Juan Community Library at BUCAPLAA. The Executive Director shall prepare and provide monthly journal entries, records of deposit, and other pertinent accounting/tax information to the Treasurer and accountant of the Library. There shall be a Treasurer’s Report at every meeting of the Board of Directors and a written report to the membership at the Annual Meeting. All checks of the corporation shall be signed by at least one (1) signature from the following: the President, the Treasurer, or the Vice-President. The Executive Director shall prepare a monthly check register to be signed by the Directors at their Board meetings. Additionally, should the offices of the President and the Vice-President become vacant at the same time, the Treasurer shall chair the Board of Directors until such time as the remaining members of the Board of Directors name successors to these offices (interim officers) to serve until the next election of officers (i.e., Board Meeting following Annual Meeting of the membership).
