All summer long we will have lots of fresh, cold air in the library proper.  And, we are featuring three activities to beat the heat!   Our summer reading contest and June session of Love, Learn and Play are two great ways to stay cool. We also invite readers to join our Thursday book group.

The summer reading contest is open to library members ages 2 – 18.  Every book read counts for our raffle of 4 reading tablets. Of course, you can check out the books and read them at home, but every summer we see young adults reading for the contest at the library.   Preregistration is not required, but it’s fine to sign up now.  The contest starts Wednesday, May 31.  Choose your books and enjoy the cool, refreshing air conditioning at your library!  Click here for all the information about this year’s contest.

Young adults are invited this summer to join our Love, Learn and Play program.  This activity was very popular activity last year at our library. It is a special program for ages 11- 14, and  features activities built around a theme, including peace, kindness and compassion.  The sessions are free and will be held from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm on June 10, 17 and 24.  The Love, Learn and Play experience encourages young adults to explore self expression in a safe, caring environment with an experienced teacher. We welcome back teacher Julia Vazquez as the facilitator for the sessions.  For more information and to register, please call or stop by  the library.   Share our flyer for this special event with your friends!

Our book group meets on the third Thursday of every month.  In June our book club will meet on Thursday, June 15th.   You are invited to join our spirited and enthusiastic readers.   No need to read the same book, as participants are welcomed to talk about a book that has inspired, challenged or infuriated them.

For more information about any of these activities, please call the Library at 787-789-4600.

We also welcome you to bring your favorite board game and spend some time relaxing and enjoying  in our library’s “cool” main room
