Celebrate Women’s History Month/March Book and Bake Sale

Stop by the library, either at our physical branch or at our ebranch at and check out a great read to celebrate women’s history month.

We have suggested readings out on display for adults, young adults and children.  And, here are some digital titles also for your consideration.

Children
Margarita Engle, Drum Dream Girl
Amy Novesky, Me, Frida

Young Adult
Gina Capaldi, Q. L Pearce, Red Bird Sings
Rebecca Langstone-George, For the right to learn

Adults

Kate Moore, The Radium Girls
Tara Westover, Educated, a Memoir
Sonia Sotomayor, My Beloved World

We also wish to recognize and give thanks to the San Juan Branch of the American Association of University Women (SJ AAUW).  Several years ago they culled and donated an excellent collection of titles recognizing women who forged ahead in their careers.  Their stories are truly inspirational.  It took such courage and conviction on their part to break the glass ceiling of resistance and indifference.  As such, this special collection was named by the San Juan AAUW as  “Stand-up Women.” Stop by to check out an illuminating story of the women who stood up for us all.
