Women’s History Month and Spring Break Notice

Thanks to everyone for joining us at our March 16 Book and Bake Sale.  We are very happy to share that our book sales totaled $70 and the bake sale to benefit a student project at the library raised more than the funds needed.  The additional funds will be used to add plants to our front entryway garden.  Thanks so much for your support!

We continue to add books to our collection in honor of Women’s History Month.  New ebooks include:

And, we wish to share titles from our Arab-American collection. The collection has many books related to women who have made a difference in the Arab world.  Among them:

Storytime:   This month’s session of Storytime will be scheduled for Thursday, March 21.st

Spring Break: The library will be open Monday and Tuesday, March 25 and 26 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
We will then be closed Wednesday, March  27 to Saturday, March 30.

Save the Date:  Join us Saturday, April 6 for our annual celebration of National Library Week.  This year’s theme is “Ready, Set, Library!”  Activities include a book sale, two storytimes (ages 2 – 6 at 11 am with Nailah Gonzalez ) (ages 7 – 12 at 1 pm with author and artist Lizette Martinez), live music from 12 pm – 1:30 pm with guitarist/vocalist Tony Santos, and a complimentary lunch at 12 pm (homemade quinoa and humus with pita).  And, with us for the entire day from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm  we will host six authors from Feria del Libro 100×35.  They will be joining us with their books and crafts on display/for sale. Authors include:   Natania Alicea, Maggie Vázquez, Alberto Cruz, Elizabeth González, Yamilé Vicéns and  Ana María Burgos

 It is going to be a very special celebration.  Please join us!
